Welcome to the website of the Association Swiss Village Abu Dhabi (SVA)

SVA was setup in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy to Abu Dhabi and the Swiss Sustainability Initiative (now swisscleantech). To date, many large and small Swiss companies are SVA members. SVA acts as an information platform and interest alliance for the Swiss business community with regards to the Masdar City project. Swiss Village includes a dedicated Swiss neighborhood and Cleantech hub in Masdar City.

SVA is now open for membership. A participation of your company or organization may offer the following main benefits:

  • Gaining direct exposure to, and inside-information on, Masdar City, the world's leading ecocity project, currently under construction (USD22bn budget, 100% based on renewable energies, etc).
  • Generating exports - Swiss Village will be designed and built by Swiss companies
  • Gaining priority access to office, light-manufacturing and residential space in Swiss Village/Masdar - benefiting from Freezone rights (100% foreign ownership, no taxes, etc), leading building quality (Swiss building standards, etc), a car free zone, etc.

A city that consumes no fossil energy and produces neither carbon dioxide nor waste products: What sounds like a dream of the future will soon be a reality. Under the name of “Masdar”, Abu Dhabi is building the ecocity of the future. In the year 2018, 50,000 people will be living in Masdar with a further 40,000 working  there every day.

The focal point will be the Swiss Village – a part of the city of its own built by the Swiss for the Swiss. The Swiss Village is not only trailblazing in nature. It also opens up access to markets in the Gulf region and offers attractive tax and investment terms. A substantial volume of orders also beckons during its realisation.

The key to orders or to a location in Masdar is provided by membership of the “Swiss Village Abu Dhabi Association”, which is coordinating the planning, development and marketing of the Swiss Village. I hope that I have aroused your interest. Read more about it on the following pages …
